Ronny Ahmed was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. He always loved nature and animals, so he joined Boy Scouts and became an Eagle Scout. Ronny graduated from Florida State University with a biology degree. Unfortunately, Ronny was shot and paralyzed in front of Strozier library while attending FSU. He met Gabrielle with her therapy dog Bodi while in the neuro ICU and she promised to get Ronny certified.

His first scholarship was for open water SCUBA certification for people with disabilities, and as he excelled at the sport and teaching it, he earned the Richard S. Gabrielle leadership scholarship which paid for all subsequent certifications. Ronny’s certifications are extensive, and he became the first person with paraplegia to become a SCUBA instructor with Scuba Educators International and with Divers Alert Network. Ronny loves teaching and helping students including with his volunteer work in schools. He wants to get cave certified and has many other interests including aviation, gaming, and animals.
